Edith Kaplan is a longtime resident of San Francisco. As a retired clinical social worker, her career spanned the fields of mental health and aging. She continues to use her expertise in geriatrics in a volunteer capacity. She has written articles professionally, and writes limericks for fun. But it was an OLLI at SF State memoir class last year, taught by Mary Winegarden, that encouraged her to try writing “outside your comfort zone.” Never dreaming she could, or would, write poetry, Edith has found it to be an exciting and challenging experience. She hopes to continue learning about, and writing in, this newly found genre. |
