Harvey Hunt retired after 30 years in public service. He and his wife Sandy sold their big house in Sacramento and moved to a San Francisco condominium. There never was a question of how to spend all their newly found free time. Life in the big city also provided the opportunity to pursue some long suppressed passions. History was the first priority to Harvey, specifically of his new North Beach neighborhood, and he began leading walking tours for San Francisco City Guides. It’s been twelve years now and he is still enjoying every minute of it. A big surprise for both of them was the many opportunities the city provided to learn simply for the love of learning. The idea of taking classes without the stress of textbooks and tests seemed revolutionary. Harvey has become an enthusiastic member of the OLLI at SF State community, taking classes in writing, history and film.
