Stuart Habley I was born on Income Tax Day in Van Nuys, California, the youngest of a flock of four. Two years later we moved to Dayton, Ohio, then Atlanta, Georgia, San Diego, California, and for the last time, when I was in sixth grade, to Palo Alto, California. I left to go to college at Oregon State, got a B.S. in Zoology and then went into art. After taking stock of myself and the world, I thought the best thing I could do was to become a carpenter. And I did, for 40 years. I did go to a couple of career counseling seminars thinking I should make better use of my education. But at the end of each, I thought, I like being a carpenter. I like making things and, when asked, to share what I know. |
